What is OKAY?

OKAY is a safety check-in app that helps you stay connected with your loved ones. Send quick status updates (OKAY or HELP) to your safety groups, schedule automatic check-ins, and share your location when needed. It's peace of mind for you and those who care about you.

How does OKAY work?

  1. Create Groups: Set up safety groups with family, friends, or colleagues
  2. Send Status: Tap OKAY or HELP to update your group instantly
  3. Schedule Check-ins: Set reminders to check in regularly
  4. Get Alerts: Receive notifications when group members update their status
  5. Share Location: Optionally share your GPS location with your group

Is OKAY free?

Yes! OKAY offers core features for free, including basic status updates (OKAY/HELP), creating and joining groups, check-in reminders, and push notifications. Premium features may include unlimited groups, advanced scheduling, and enhanced support.

Do I need an iCloud account?

Yes, OKAY uses iCloud (CloudKit) to store and sync your data. You must be signed in to iCloud on your device to use OKAY.

Groups

How do I create a group?

  1. Tap the "+" button on the Groups tab
  2. Choose "Create Group"
  3. Enter a group name (e.g., "Family," "Hiking Buddies")
  4. Tap "Create"
  5. Invite members by sharing your group's invite code or QR code

How do I join a group?

There are three ways to join:

Option 1 - Invite Code:

  1. Tap "Join Group" on the Groups tab
  2. Enter the 8-character invite code
  3. Tap "Join"

Option 2 - Share Link:

  1. Open the invite link sent by the group owner
  2. OKAY will open automatically
  3. Confirm you want to join

Option 3 - QR Code:

  1. Tap "Join Group" → "Scan QR Code"
  2. Point your camera at the QR code
  3. Tap "Join"

How many members can be in a group?

Free users can have up to 10 members per group. Premium users can have unlimited members.

Privacy & Security

Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored in YOUR personal iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. We do NOT store your data on our own servers. This means you maintain full control over your data, and we never have access to it.

Can I use OKAY without sharing my location?

Absolutely! Location sharing is completely optional. You can send status updates without location, only share location when you choose to, and disable location access in iOS Settings at any time. Core check-in features work perfectly without location sharing.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's CloudKit security. Only authorized group members can access shared group data.
